Bagaimana status kewarganegaraan anak yang lahir sebelum tanggal 1 Agustus 2006 di Amerika Serikat? Apakah anak saya berhak memiliki status “kewarganegaraan ganda terbatas”? apakah ada perbedaan peraturan kewarganegaraan antara Indonesia dan AS? Lalu apa dampaknya bagi anak saya?
Untuk menjawab semua itu, KBRI Washington, D.C. akan mengadakan penyuluhan hukum, khususnya UU no. 12 tahun 2006 yang akan diadakan pada:

Beberapa point dari hasil penyuluhan ini:
- Anak yang lahir di Amerika bisa mendapat dua kewarganegaraan sampai umur 18 tahun. Anak yang lahir setelah 1 Agustus 2006, otomatis mendapatkan dua kewarganegaraan tersebut.
- Anak yang lahir di Amerika sebelum tanggal 1 Agustus 2006, harus mendaftarkan kewarganegaraan Indonesia di KBRI/KJRI (walaupun sudah punya paspor Indonesia).
- Batas pendaftaran Kewarganegaraan Indonesia ini adalah tanggal 31 Juli 2010 jam 24:00. Setelah tanggal tersebut pendaftaran kewarganegaraan Indonesia harus dilakukan di Indonesia dengan syarat anak tersebut sudah tinggal 5 tahun berturut-turut di Indonesia atau 10 tahun tidak berturut-turut.
- Biaya pendaftaran kewarganegaraan beserta pasport ini sekitar $200 per anak.
- Pendaftaran harus menunjukkan paspor asli orang tua (bukan hanya foto copy).

Dear all,
On behalf of PERMIAS MICHIGAN, I am inviting you and to come to the
Indonesian Cultural Night 2010: Prambanan, The Legend at
Angell Hall Auditorium B, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Central Campus.
The event will take place on
Saturday, February 20th 2010, 5-9 pm.
Come and enjoy the splendor of unique Indonesian culture while also tasting the delicious Indonesian cuisine, such as White Rice with Rendang.
Cultural performances such as Angklung, Saman dance, Sasando, and Pencak Silat will be performed by students as well as Indonesian communities living around Ann Arbor and Detroit area.
